Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: Everything You Need to Know
For many families, a visit to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is one of the most magical moments of a Disney vacation. It’s where children are transformed into princesses, princes, knights, and fairytale royalty—complete with costumes, hairstyling, and that unforgettable “wow” moment when they see themselves (and someone else) in the mirror for the first time.
Whether you’re visiting Disney World, Disneyland, or one of the Disney Cruise ships, here’s everything you need to know about Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, including how reservations work, important rules, and our best tips for securing a reservation.
What Is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a themed makeover experience for children, led by Fairy Godmothers-in-Training. Guests choose from a variety of packages that may include:
Hairstyling
Costumes (or bringing your own)
Accessories like tiaras, wands, shoes, swords, and shields
Light makeup or face gems (package dependent)
The experience is interactive, whimsical, and incredibly memorable—often becoming a highlight of the entire trip.
Where Is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Located?
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques are found in both the east and west coast parks as well as the Disney Cruise ships. Multiple locations have not reopened since they closed during the pandemic unfortunately, but here are the currently open locations your princesses and princes can enjoy.
Possibly the most iconic location is the one at Disney World in Magic Kingdom inside Cinderella Castle. You’ll check-in outside Sir Mickey’s where you will choose your package, dress (if purchasing), and any accessories. You’ll then be escorted to the Boutique inside the castle with your Fairy Godmother-in-Training.
Disneyland’s location is found inside Fantasyland just behind Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Each Disney Cruise ship has a Boutique location. On the Magic and Wonder, the Boutique is on Deck 10, on the Dream and Fantasy it is on Deck 5, and on the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny it is on Deck 4.
Availability, packages, and locations can vary by season, so it’s always a good idea to confirm details before your trip.
What Is a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Reservation?
A reservation is required to experience Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Walk-ups are extremely rare and not something we recommend counting on—especially during busy seasons.
Reservations:
Open 60 days in advance of check-in day at Disney World for the full length of your trip, 60 days in advance at Disneyland, and the date you are eligible to book onboard experiences and port excursions for Disney Cruise Lines which depends on your Castaway Club level.
Fill up very quickly, often within minutes of booking opening.
Change a lot within a week of travel.
Because this experience is so popular, planning ahead is key.
Important to Know
Before booking, here are a few important guidelines families should be aware of:
Age Requirement: Children must be ages 3–12 (yes, you can be TOO young as well as TOO old)
Adult Presence: A parent or guardian must remain with the child during the experience, but only two guests total may join the appointment
Dress Code: Costumes may be purchased, but children are welcome to bring their own
Cancellations: Disney has strict cancellation policies—you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or you’ll be incur a $10 fee
Timing Matters: Appointments can take up to 90 minutes, so be sure to plan accordingly around dining reservations and other plans.
Pricing: The least expensive package currently is $99.95 and can go up all the way to $450+. It will depend on the options and dresses chosen.
Best Tips for Securing a Reservation
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservations are competitive, but these tips can help improve your chances:
Book the Moment Reservations Open
Reservations open 60 days in advance at Disneyland, and the date you are eligible to book onboard experiences and port excursions for Disney Cruise Lines which depends on your Castaway Club level. For Disney World, reservations open sometime between midnight and 6am ET even though the posted time is 6am. The same goes for Disneyland in Pacific Time. For the Cruise ships, bookings open at 12am ET.
Being ready right when booking opens is crucial, and no, that’s not easy when bookings could open sometime between midnight at 6am. I recommend checking at midnight, and if they aren’t open, try again around 5am.
Be Flexible With Dates & Times
If your preferred day isn’t available, try:
Earlier or later times
A different park day
Keep checking
Don’t Panic if You Don’t Get One Right Away
Cancellations happen! Checking back frequently—or having someone monitor availability for you—can make all the difference. I personally use MouseDining to continually search for reservations I can’t secure immediately when bookings open. I find that there’s a lot of openings once within a week of your desired date, but you’ll need to be quick to snatch up the openings. MouseDining will email and/or text you when reservations open up.

Is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Worth It?
For families with young children who love Disney characters and fairytales, the answer is often yes. The experience isn’t just about the makeover—it’s about the confidence boost, the storytelling, and the memories you’ll look back on long after your trip ends.
And the best part? Those smiles in the photos are very real.
If you’re worried that your little one won’t remember it, rest assured that you will. I (Ashley) took my daughter three times before she outgrew the experience. The first time was with her cousins at five, and we did the WHOLE package. The dress, the hair extensions, and all the extras. We all loved the experience. It was loud with lots of laughs. That hair style lasted 3 days too!
On our second trip at six, we brought an Elsa dress we purchased at home. She chose a more refined hair style and treated the experience like she was a real princess. This felt like the experience where she believed in the magic of it all.
Her final trip was because she knew she would be too old soon. She chose a dress that was more appropriate for an eleven-year-old and treated it like a spa experience. She even posed for photos which she didn’t typically do anymore. She took her hair out that night though, not desperately holding on to the magic anymore.
Each appointment at a different point in time was special in its own way. There’s no perfect age because each experience is perfect in its own way.
